This is a product that I picked up strictly because of its price point. I have made it my goal to review products in all price ranges for this site, and this balm definitely falls squarely into the "value" category. I can't find much about this brand online their website appears to be down right now, but this product is readily available on both Amazon and Ebay. All I know about them for sure is that these products are handmade in Colorado Springs, and it seems like this balm and a wax called "Death Grip" seem to be the only stuff they currently make (there are also pictures of some oils on tehir instagram account, but I cant seem to find them for sale anywhere). There are definitely questions that I can't answer about this company or this product, but there is one that I can; is it any good? let's find out...

Scent...

As an unscented product there's nothing very remarkable about the way this product smells (and I'm sure that's the intended purpose). There is a bit of a shea butter note, but I mean, that's not the worst thing in the world, and it certainly doesnt hang around very long, so you don't need to worry about it interfering with your cologne, or whatever oil you may have put in your beard first.  Either way, being unscented, there isn't much detail to go into here, so lets just move on...

How does it work?

Every now and then you come upon a great score when you really werent expecting to. This stuff is the beard balm equivalent of getting unexpected money in the mail, or walking into the grocery store and finding your favorite steak on sale. It scoops out with great ease, and warms incredibly smoothly. Conditioning properties are incredible, the castor oil (which I've gone on and on ad-nauseum about how much I enjoy as an ingredient) really leaves my beard and face feeling super healthy. There also seems to be just the right amount of beeswax in this product as it provides a tremendous amount of hold, which seems to last all day, but it in no way feels waxy or stiff (it actually feels like the halfway point between balm and butter). It seems to have a great amount of staying power too, as one morning application is enough to seal in your oil and tame your mane well into the evening. The all natural ingredients also impart a super healthy shine that really finishes your routine off nicely, and gives an incredible finished look.

The Bottom Line

From a value standpoint, this is one of the best balms out there. From a performance standpoint, this product can hang with balms  that sport a price tag twice, or even three times as high. I sure hope that this company plans on creating some new products, because I get the impression that they really put an emphasis on quality. Whether you're balling on a budget, or you just appreciate getting a great product at a great price, you definitely need to check this stuff out!
