Treating my readers to a two-fer today, as I'm really excited to tell you about a new brand that is taking the beard-care game by storm. Magnificent Man Company is a relative newcomer to the scene, but that doesn't mean that they don't know quality. Based out of South Carolina, Magnificent Man aims to be a one stop shop for men's grooming products designed to transform average joes into, you guessed it, magnificent men. With a full suite of beard care products released as part of their initial launch, this company is rapidly spreading their magnificent ethos to beardsmen everywhere! They recently sent me some samples, which I was excited to try, after a few days of sampling the goods, I must say that magnificent is more than just a name when it comes to this company.
I tried their oil, blam, and cream in the Lumberjack scent profile. A rugged mix of cedar, pine, and peppermint designed to make you feel like a flannel clad whistle punk from a bygone era. with an initial camphoraceous chord so brilliantly accurate that if you close your eyes, you'll swear you're momentarily transported to redwood forest in the Pacific Northwest on a foggy autumn morning. This is further accentuated by just the faintest hint of energizing mint, that awakens your senses like a chilly gust of mountain air. This is a very straightforward forest type scent that is so well executed that you could imagine Paul Bunyan himself rubbing this stuff into his magnificent mane after a morning of chopping majestic pines.
Performance more than lives up to the great expectations set by the scent. The oil is thick and conditions wonderfully...brilliantly working its way from root to tip with a tremendous absorption which leaves zero greasy feel or residue. The balm is on the stiffer side, with a slightly higher melting point than some, its occlusive peroperties are second to none, sealing in the fantastic oil, without the need for touchups at any point in the day. The avocado and hemp seed oils in this product offer an extra level of conditioning that keeps my beard feeling great, while avoiding the "crunch" that some waxier balms can impart. Hold is also fantastic offering a bit more control than your average balm. Perhaps my favorite part of the entire liuneup is the beard cream, now, this stuff conditions like an absolute dream, slightly thicker and "heavier" than creams that I've tried by both Huskybeard and Rad Beard, this product melts brilliantly in my hands, working into my beard with ease. Moisturizing properties for both beard and face are absolutely fantastic, with an ingredients list that seems to include all the best stuff in beard care, this product leaves my beard feeling so touchably soft and strong, and my skin feeling incredibly moisturized. While most beard creams I've tried seem to have a mattifying effect, this product imparts a brilliant, healthy lustre for a finished look that can only be described as magnificent.
I harp on quality a lot here, and with good reason. When it comes to beard care products, why would anybody want to drop their hard earned dough on something that just doesn't measure up? For a new brand to really make an impact they need to offer a level of quality that not only puts them in the same conversation as the well established labels out there, but they need to do it in a way that grabs the attention of consumers. Magnificent Man Company has certainly declared their arrival in the world of beard-care, with their top shelf product offerings, a lineup of awesome scents, and an owner who shows a tremendous level of enthusiasm for what he does, this is a company to keep an eye out for, because 2020 will surely be a big year for them!
