I've been following Beard Booze's YouTube channel for a little while now, if you are looking for an awesome channel full of helpful beard related information presented in a "no bullshit" kind of way, I highly recommend you check them out. I was looking for a good beard wash to add to my rotation the other day, and figured that now was as good of a time as any to give this stuff a try. Will it earn a permanent spot on the shower ledge? or will it be relegated to that dark corner of the cabinet under the sink? Lets find out...
Hawaiian Lion is described on the Beard Booze website as a blend of lavender, lime, and sandalwood...I get a ton of crisp key lime, the scent is so limey and refreshing that you might find your mouth starting to water as you smell it. There is definitely a discernable amount of both lavender and sandalwood, but they only serve to round out the wonderful, bright lime aroma. If while working this intoxicating smelling wash into your beard, you dont find yourself closing your eyes and conjuring up mental images of sipping a frosty tropical cocktail while looking out at gentle waves emerging from a clear blue ocean to lap up the prestine white sands of a beautiful beach, while warm tradewinds carry a faint floral scent that seems to fill your senses and relax every muscle in your body...well, it's probably because you dont have much of an imagination.
How does it work?
We already know that all beard washes are not created equal...in fact, of all beard care products, I might dare to say that washes are the one category in which the widest spectrum of quality exists. With that in mind, I can say confidently that this is one of the highest quality beard washes I've ever tried. Obviously it smells amazing, but that's just the beginning...take a pump or two from the unique aluminum bottle and work it into your beard, you'll find that it creates a lather that is nothing short of luxurious, tons of fine thick foam that feels like it's hard to work gently cleaning every single hair on your face, from root to tip. It rinses cleanly, and leaves your beard feeling incredibly refreshed, and the best part is that it won't even slightly dry out your skin. I will admit to not understanding the science of beard washes as well as say, oils and balms...but there is an ingredient in here that provides some outstanding conditioning properties, you won't believe how silky and strong your beard feels after a quick towel dry...and when you go to run a comb through your beard and hit it with the blow-dryer, you will be astonished at how neat and tangle-free everything is.
The bottom line
I can sit here and tell you how great this wash is, but until you get some and try it for yourself, there really is no way to fully appreciate what an awesome experience the good people at Beard Booze have created with this product. I've tried a great many washes of varying quality, but this is one that I plan to have in my rotation from here on out. I can say with absolutely no exaggeration that this is a product that you will actually look forward to using on a daily basis, I am definitely looking forward to checking out some of the other scents that this stuff is offered in. I am proud to name this as the first product to recieve a perfect score of 100 from this blog.
